4 Reasons Why You Should Try Perfume Oils

We love all kinds of perfume, which is why we think it’s time to hone in on one of our favourite variations—perfume oil. Although roll-on perfume oils are less popular than standard EDP or EDT spray-on perfumes, we believe they’re perfect for those who don't like walking around in a cloud of clearly identifiable perfume. For those who have sensitive skin, and for those who are a bit more cautious to what they are actually using on a day to day basis, while also smelling like a beautiful designer fragrance.

Here are a few reasons why we love perfume oil:

They last longer.
The actual perfume elements and extracts in perfume oils are much more concentrated than those in standard alcohol-based EDT and EDP perfumes, which contain only a small amount of the true fragrance that is diluted with alcohol and other fillers. Perfume oils tend to “stick” to the skin and linger, whereas many standard spray perfumes are actually better applied to clothing for longer wear as fabrics give them something to hold on to.

They are less likely to irritate your skin.
Alcohol and other dehydrating chemicals in perfumes can be irritating and drying to the skin. People with dry skin can often have a hard time wearing a spray fragrance as it quickly dries and dissipates. Oils on the the other hand are moisturising, which means they last longer and are suitable for any skin type.

They are more bang for your buck.
Perfume oils are packaged using rollerballs, which you apply to areas like your wrists, inside of your elbow, behind your ears, and the back of your neck. With a rollerball application, you can apply as much or as a little of the scent as you want, allowing for total control. Standard alcohol-based spray perfumes often feel like they are being wasted, especially when you’re spraying it into the air and walking through the resulting mist. A cheap alcohol-based spray perfume almost always smells like just that, cheap, but you can pick up a great-smelling perfume oil for far less than your usual designer fragrance.

They’re less overpowering.
It’s true that the higher concentration in perfume oils often makes them smell stronger and richer, but they’re less likely than alcohol-based spray perfumes to leave behind a sillage or  a trail. If you are sensitive to overbearing fragrances that feel like you’re walking around in a cloud of scent, oils are the perfect solution. Perfume oils stay close to your skin and radiate outward due to the warmth of your pulse points, but best of all you’ll feel like you’re wearing a scent rather than having a scent wear you.
